It has been 4 years for me celebrating Hari Raya as a family
man and this Hari Raya was quite special for me. Essentially, the meaning of ‘Family’
truly sparks in this year celebration. We travelled from one place to another
to visit our relatives from my side and wife’s as well. On the first two days,
we were in Seremban (my side) and the next three days we were in Kota Bharu (wife’s
side – well, her family lives in KL now but still got relatives in Kota Bharu).
Travelling back from KB to KL was quite an experience, it took 14 hours +
massive traffic jam to reach KL where it takes 7 hours in regular time. It
shows lot of Kelantan’s origin migrating to KL perhaps for better
opportunities.
My assessment on KB city is quite mixed. I truly enjoyed the Kampung nature that it has to offer, the foods, a seemingly simpler life by the folks there, but City Council could do better in lot ways to improve the KB’s development. One thing for sure, the roads must be improved, the traffic light in the city is very much horrible that causes more pain to the road users. The traffic light management is not easy and a bit tricky. It’s associated with probability calculation (closely related to risk calculation in Insurance’s Industry) whereby the traffic flow and pattern should be carefully analyzed. But I noticed the traffic light has the same behavior in KB’s city (and in Kelantan generally) no matter what the traffic flows and patterns are. It’s a simpler solution but by no means resolving traffic jam issues. But due to spirit of Hari Raya (and this entry by no means to assess the KB city), the woes should be forgotten but the happiness should be lifted. And these pics could describe as they say more than 1000 words J.
